Is this game being broadcast anywhere? Rooney and Farmer said yesterday no games until April 1st and then I went to mlb.com and you can not listen to it there.

It's on ESPN 1000. You either misheard Rooney and Farmer or they were wrong, because it's on...

Well when you go to the Sox site, it does not list it.

Who is pitching for us? Thanks.

Buehrle. And pitching well. The Sox don't have many starters playing (I think only Valentine and Konerko) and have had at least 3 people thrown out on the bases, but they're hitting well (of course, it's Steve Sparks pitching for the D-Backs, so they should).

Buehrle has 4 ip and 4+Ks and only 2 hits including one by the opposing pitcher, steve sparks.

It, I'm tired, so sue me.

After Buehrle's hit, 2 run homer Uribe. 4-0 Sox!

Every single time I read these game threads, Uribe is getting doubles and homers. Yet his batting average doesn't reflect it.

I don't care, he is the starting 2B in my mind. Willie is a good utility guy that can fill in at second and CF and pinch run. Just b/c he has speed doesn't mean he is a leadoff hitter.

I noticed the same thing.

All that speed doesn't mean a thing if the most exercise he gets is jogging back to the dug out after a weak ground out.

Uribe is 3 for 4 after a single.

Harris looked like he was a lock for the 2B job after Uribe slowed down his slugging, but now he brought it back up, creating trouble for harris.

The real problem is that neither can get on base consistantly.

This is why platooning them to open the season is a good idea. If they are competitive against each other, that's more production at the leadoff spot.

I lean a little towards Wee Willie, due to the fact that he's shown he'll take more pitches than Uribe (at least, so far this spring), but we'll see. I'm all for the platooning.

Sox get another with a bases loaded 1 out sac fly by konerko. 5-0 sox in the bottom of the 7th

FWIW Harris Willie is getting on base 36% of the time this spring. Uribe's OPS is about 20 points higher.

Any more updates?

I'm outside of radio range and mlb.com isn't broadcasting the game.

Thanks.

If the baseball season only lasted the month of March, this guy would win the MVP every year.

Is this the same guy who JM stuck with even though he couldn't bat over .100?

According to Rooney, Buehrle hasn't walked anybody all spring, over 20 IP. Nice.

Rooney just mentioned that Buehrle has 0 walks in 20 innings pitched. This is just incredible. Talk about the epitome of control.

We're really just repeating each other with every post, eh?

Anyway, game over, 5-2 Sox final.
