I think this team is capable of finishing 86-76 & will miss the postseason by 4 or 5 games. But look at it like this. We started the season off by losing half of our pitching staff and our best hitter & then had to dig out of a 15 under 500 hole. Despite all that we were in contention almost till the end.

I know you all have heard the "just wait till next year" cliche, but I really think we have a chance to put together something special next season if we get everyone back healthy.

I think the Sox will finish this year 84-78. 85 should be the goal of the team, try to get respectibility. As for next year I agree that if everyone comes back healthy the Sox will contend. Otherwise next year is gonna be another really long year.

they're certainly looking like the 2000 sox at the plate against a first place club this weekend, now if we only had a bullpen and a game manager

I was thinking 84-78 also.

If we could possibly hit the 85 mark, I'd be more than happy. To go through what we did and win just 10 less games would be quite an accomplishment. Still would like to can Manuel as I firmly believe his lineups and bullpen calls cost at least 10-12 wins this year. Would love to pry Bowa away from Phillies. Guarantee you wouldn't see the errors and the knothead baserunning,
