Does any one know the dates of Kittle's 7 roofshots. My friends and I are going to make a T-shirt to commemorate the shots and want to list the dates on the back, but cant find them listed anywhere. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't have that info, but welcome aboard! :D:

I am sure one of the resident historians can help you. You might even be able to find the information in the archives of this site if you look around.

Courtest of Lindberg's White Sox Encyclopedia:

Sept 6, 1983 v. Chris Codiroli, A's

Sept 19, '83 v. Mike Walters, Twinkees

Aptil 29, 1984 v. Al Nipper, Boston

July 2, '84 v. Dave Rozema, Tigers

Aug 1, '84 v. Bob Ojeda, Boston (Fisk had off Ojeda in the same game too!)

Aug 8, 1985 v. Ojeda, Boston

Finally...

April 17, 1990 v. Rob Murphy, Balt. (this happened after the plate was moved back 8' from the outfield)

No problem. The Sox Encyclopedia is a great reference tool. I was amazed how many shots Kittle and Luzinski had from '83 til '85. Luzinski had three in early '83, then Kittle pounded the next three in late '83 and early '84. Then they each had another, so they were tied at 4. Then Kittle pulled away.

Another great question is the number of shots into the centerfield bleachers at old Comiskey. I know Dick Allen did it once or twice. I think George Bell may have been the last one to do it (with Toronto at the time), but don't quote me on that.

Bleacher Shots. One of my favorite subjects. I don't have the
exact dates but I know the ones who did them were:

Jimmie Foxx 1934
Hank Greenberg 1938
Alex Johnson 1970
Dick Allen 1972
Richie Zisk 1977
Tony Armas 1984
George Bell 1985

Also, I believe Josh Gibson may have done it in a Negro League
game, but I'm not sure.

Bell also hit the roof that day--the only time someone hit the rood and the bleachers in the same game--maybe the only player period that was a visitor
