The game is on Seattle's radio station through mlb.com audio.

Mariners first inning:

Ichiro walks.
Winn singles to right. Ichiro to third.
Boone flies out to right. Ichiro scores.
Ibanez singles to right. Winn to second.
Martinez doubles to left. Winn and Ibanez score.
Olerud singles. Martinez to third.
Wilson singles. Martinez scores. Olerud to second.

At this point I got a phone call, so I lost track of the game for a few minutes, but nobody else scored.

4 runs. 5 hits. 2 LOB.

Yikes, Grilli.

End of the first:
SEATTLE--4 WHITE SOX--0

The_Floridian

Sox second inning:

Konerko grounds out to third.
Burke pops out to shortstop.
Olivo grounds out to third.

No Runs. No Hits.

MARINERS--4 SOX--0

Grilli may be losing the fifth starters job as we speak.

David Sanders, Jon Adkins and, I believe, Matt Ginter will be going today as well.

These Seattle announcers are pretty good. Especially compared to those schmucks from KC and Arizona.

And they're saying a lot of positiv things about the Sox. Good for them.

Mariners second inning:

Ichiro singles to left.
Winn taps one to third base and beats the throw, but Ichiro is thrown out trying to take third base.
Boone grounds into 6-4-3 Double Play.

0 runs. 2 hits. 1 LOB.

After two:
MARINERS—4 SOX—0

The_Floridian

Sox third inning:

Reed singles to right.
Dransfeldt flies out to right center.
Uribe pops out to catcher.
Reed steals second base.
Rowand flies out to center.

0 runs. 1 hit. 1 steal. 1 LOB.

MARINERS—4 SOX—0

Good. I feel much more comfortable going into the season with Danny Wright filling that void.

I think Danny Wright has shown he wants and has earned #5. I still like Rausch too and wish he could make the team.

I agree, but I'd rather have him starting, and I'm not ready to have him start over Danny Wright just yet. Charlotte is his best option.

Mariners third inning:

Ibanez singles to left.
Martinez grounds into 5-4-3 Double Play.

And then some other things happened and the Sox went down 1-2-3.

I’m your source for sporadic, incomplete updates.

After 3 and a half, it 4-0 Mariners.

I like Rausch, but I feel that having him in AAA, where he is gauranteed to be starting regularly, rather than working inconsistently in the pen, is the better move.

Wilson just singled and Lopez doubled. The M's have runners on 2nd and 3rd, nobody out.

Winn just hit a two-run triple to make it 7-0 Mariners. Grilli's given up 7 runs on 13 hits so far.

Ouch.

And Boone just singles to make it 8-0.

Guillen's coming out with the hook. Tough day for Grilli.

He'll be alright, though. Long relief in the pen this season, I think.

Ibanez with an RBI double off the new pitcher. His name is Bullard or something like that. I didn't recognize it.

Martinez singles another one home.

10-0 Mariners, and still nobody out in the bottom of the fourth.

I'd rather start the season without Grilli. His control problems worry me. I'd rather have Wright as the 4, Rauch as the 5, and Shoenweiss as the long reliever.

The_Floridian

The fourth has mercifully ended. The Mariners put together 9 consecutive hits.

M's--11
Sox--0

Good thing I watched the White Sox game on ESPN Classic today.

Jim Bullard - a so-so lefty middle reliever. Was at AA last year.

Ginter sends them down 1-2-3.

After 6, still 11-1 Seattle.

Good thing Williams already sent down Rauch. Looks like Danny Wright it is.

Schoenweis and Wright as the 4 and 5 starters...

Does Ginter have a shot at making the team? Seems that Ginter has done well this spring.

Ginter has done well, but I think they'll be using him as the primary closer in Charlotte this year. The closer and setup roles seem pretty well set, so it's probably best to let him have one more season there.

Final score, 12-2 Mariners.

It was rough dear friends, but we will always have the memories of our various Rally Simian replacements. Take heart, fellows, for this game did not mean, in the words of Shakespeare, "Diddly-squat".

Keep coming up with those mascots, too. It is good for the soul.

I bid you all a fondue.
