Borchard has never impressed me at the major league level. Triple A is where he belongs

Yes, but we didn't pay him $5.6MM to rot in Charlotte. He needs to get healthy and get productive.

I still think he needs a full season down there, regardless of how much money we paid him.

I think he really just needs to be healthy and then we will see why we paid him all of that money. I agree that he needs to work all of that out down on the farm first. But I think that if he's raking by All-Star break that he needs to make the trip up.

He's definitely been a waste of money so far, but I think I need to see him 100% healthy again before I totally write him off. When he was healthy, he was one of the best players in the minors. He hasn't been healthy in 2 years.

well ... he had a powerful bat .. but , one of the best players in the minors? i disagree. he had potential, but never lived up to it ... never LOOKED like he was going to live up to it ... and now appears injury prone.

i'd write him off. trade him to someone who still thinks he has potential.

I was never able to see him play in those days. I am only going by the reviews from our friends at Baseball America.

Wow, didnt realize we had that much money tied up in this guy. big waste in my opinion. Sox waste money on a player, what else is new!

Yep. That money was his bribe (I mean signing bonus) to not go back and quarterback the Stanford football team. I can't say I blame him.
