Hasn't Griffey Junior been bothered by injuries since he left Seattle?

Please, God, let it happen.

No way! I really dont think we're in a position to take such a huge gamble on such an injury prone, washed up former all star. If he was tradable for prospects and restructured his deal tremendously, then maybe id change my stance. But i think id rather take my chances with rowand and see what he can do on an every day basis.

I wouldn't be very happy about such a trade. Too much money and a gamble with injuries. Much of the money is deferred, which means this will be hanging over our heads for a long time. I'd rather roll the dice with the younger players we have than take this gamble.

I'm all for it. Considering how much money is deferred, it is not really that much of a gamble, since the Sox are only required to pay him 6 million/year in the present.
I'm just curious if this contract is covered by insurance, so that if Griffey doesn't play a certain percentage of games in any particular year (say 75%), if we are still on the hook for the entire salary.

I would take a Cheap KenGriffey as our Designated Hitter,
with Rowand in Center. Only if we can move Konerko.
man.....We would have a very fearful lineup ......
Harris, Rowand, Thomas, Ordonez, Griffey, Lee, Valentin
