Oh dont worry. I'm sure they'll go out and acquire a legitinate replacement even if it is for only two months.

They can always move Williams back to the OF and find another DH.

Don't see it happening. Who would we get in return? The Yank's minor league system has been decimated.

Too bad

If Sheffield was unable to play again...I wouldn't be crying any tears that's for sure. I really don't like that guy.

"Y'all think I'm such a fool? Well I just got off the phone with Cashman and I'd like to announce we have just completed a trade with the New York Yankees. In return for Magglio Ordonez, we will receive Aaron Boone, Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, and the rights to negotiate with Paul O'Neill. You can thank me at the parade."

Great. He was my first round pick in my fantasy draft last week.

As for the real world, Ha Ha. I'm not superstitious, but it looks like some bad juju's gonna get the evil empire.

His thumb?

Is that all?

Back in the good old days before free agency and the pampered jocks of today, the players would laugh it off and go back to the game. Now, they search for any excuse they can to just sit back, slack off and live it up.

Meanwhile, we the fans pay for these slackers through excessive ticket prices.

Maybe he's trying to take time off to "detox" from steroids before someone can grab a urine sample from him.

I really hope the SOX open up another Hole for us by getting "rid" of Maggs. Im always Angered by the way Teams look at the SOX for picking up good players, like were MLB's version of
a 7-11, always open and willing to "sell" our good players off.

how is he suppose to play if he cant grip a bat, especially when he has that stupid herky jerky stance.

If, at this point, the Sox were to trade Ordonez, I propose that we all just go hibernate til football season.

a hurt thumb is really bad for hin considering he does that strange thing with his hands before the ball is pitched to him. I really dont know why the yankees were so high up on Sheffield when there were better options out there.

jah, i picked him first too!

doesnt put the yanks off stride too much, williams now gets to bat 7th instead of 8th(!)

maybe they wish they kept soriano

I hate how the last line in that article makes it sound so matter-of-fact that the yankees can just "go get" ordonez, like george can just snap his fingers and have him. it sucks

I guess steroids don't make your fingers immune to jams. Oh wait......Gary has never 'knowingly' taken steroids. Sorry Sheff.
