I still miss Joe Piscopo :/ Years of therapy, and I still haven't gotten over it.

Thanks! I am stuck out in Richmond, VA.

Nice hit by Joe, Frank chugs into 3rd as he was running with two out.

Reed up to the plate.

Brian26
03-06-2004, 03:24 PM
Reed grounds out to short, and Crede out at 2nd on a fielder's choice.

Rooney and Farmio are actually very candid. They say many in the organization feel Reed has passed Borchard in potential. Rooney says Borchard's biggest problem is that he needs to calm down at the plate.

How did Frank get aboard?

Brian26
03-06-2004, 03:26 PM
Rooney ripping Danny Bautista for jogging to first on a groundout! Great stuff.

Brian26
03-06-2004, 03:27 PM
Rooney schillin' the Sox-9 package as the only way to get Cubs/Sox tickets this year. :(:

How did Frank reach? Single? Error? Walk? Bunt Single?

JGarlandrules20
03-06-2004, 03:32 PM
I think he was hit by a pitch..

HawkDJ
03-06-2004, 03:32 PM
Grilli issues two straight 2 out walks then a base hit but the runner is thrown out at the plate. Valenzuela to Burke.

Brian26
03-06-2004, 03:32 PM
Bang! Mario Valenzuela throws out Luis Garcia at the plate to end the top of the second. Score it 7-2, Valenzuela to Burke. Nice throw.

To answer earlier questions, not sure how Frank got on. I just flipped on the game before Crede's hit.

At least making tickets for the cubs game more available via the 9 pack will keep many scrub fans away, although you can bet that plenty of these tickets will be available on ebay anyway.

In that case, please throw high and tight to a Dback, Grilli.

Have you seen some of the prices for the series at Wrigley on Ebay? I've seen $200 for 2 tickets for the July 4 game.

Uribe strikes out, Rowand steals second.

Brian26
03-06-2004, 03:42 PM
Rooney and Farmio talking about the time Ozzie duped Kirk Gibson into not sliding into second, and tagging him out.

Great story.

DBacks up 1-0 after 2 innings.

Brian26

Rooney likes to bowl, but can't find any good places.

Farmio hates bowling.

Rooney likes the new commercial with Randy Johnson bowling.

Actually, it would be the 2nd. Apparently, the Sox played the Rockies in a B game earlier, and Borchard hit a tape measure shot.

these diamondback announcers do not really do the play by play well, they never really tell what happens to certain guys it seems. one guy will be batting, and then next thing i hear about the game is that another guy gets a basehit, but i never heard what the first guy did because they were blabbing on about quinton mccracken and carlos baerga

2-1....way to go crede!

ChiSox14305635

Harris and Valentin walk. After Thomas lined out, Crede comes through with a base hit for a 2-1 lead. That's what they gotta do: manufacture runs, and not always rely on the longball.

It's great to know that Rauch is off to good start. I'm still wondering why he wasn't given more playing time last season. I thought he could have helped the team better than Wright or Paniagua. I hope Jon pitches well enough to win the fifth spot, and that he does it relatively early. The sooner the Sox know what kind of team they're going to have for the regular season, the better.

They could have just been handling him gently, not wanting to risk injury. But now is the time to see if Jon is what he is supposed to be.

Very impressive start by the Sox pitchers especially considering it's in Arizona. However let's see the numbers they are putting up around March 20th, OK? Rememebr they are still facing a majority of guys right now who won't be with the big clubs in two weeks time.

So are you changing you view of the importance of ST games?

Or are we supposed to calm down about the Sox winning ST games, but lose are minds and proclaim the season lost if they lose a few, even if a minor league player/picther, who is gaurenteed not to be on the Sox come the season, makes a little mistake to cause the loss?

Good points. Apparently in the minds of some it's damned if win, damned if we lose.

When your only goal is to complain about Jerry Reinsdorf hoping he'll notice and sell the team, I guess that's what happens...

TUCSON - I attended the first 5˝ innings of today's game before leaving to attend to baseball matters at UA. I was satisfied with how we looked overall, although we certainly cannot hang our collective hat upon three spring training games.

The highlight was Valentín's blast to deep right center that tied the game. The game should have been a shutout, really. Had catcher Burke held on to the ball on Baerga's first inning hit, RAlomar would have been out at the plate. Later in the game, on a similar play, Burke held onto the ball and got the runner.

It was a good crowd at the game today, even though most of those in attendance were Diamondback fans.

That would explain all of the booing in the 9th inning when Politte dropped the ball and Zinter wasn't awarded 3rd base.
