Ahhhh....it feels good to have White Sox baseball, even if it's only ST.

I didn't catch the batting order of this games but Harris, Frank, Lee, Crede, Gload, Anderson, Sweeney, and Valentin are in this one. I'll try to update this on some of the action. Loaiza fires away.

BTW, the chat room is open. Come on in.

Nice job by Joey to wave him home.

Is this only broadcasted on MLB.com? Just curious since the Rockies game is on a website from Denver.

Anybody else remember TimChamp doing all the spring training updates last year and always ending with a different variant on "Champ Out"... I distinctly remember a running commentary in the "Champ Out" lines on one game about some cute girls walking by outside his building, priceless...

just a little spring training flashback, great to have baseball back.

Error on Crede followed by a wild pitch. Not a good start to the inning.

Isn't that the truth.

Robbie Alomar and his $60,000/yr contract scores on Colbrunn's hit.

I'm new to the game threads for Sox games, as I only joined this website a few months ago.

Do you guys rather wait to till the inning over and then say what happens, or just when it happens, post it?

Well, Gload singles up the middle to lead off the seventh, I think.

Anyone else noticing that almost every time we've had a runner at first with less than two outs, the next guy bunts? I'm all for bunting, but not every single time. Gotta keep the infield honest.

Anderson walks, two on with nobody out. Well, haha, now we got runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Sweeney batting.

ok im done!

CWSGuy406

Anderson scores on a deep sac-fly.

3-2 Sox take the lead. Inning's over.

Winning against the DBacks and Rockies has to take away whatever pressure Ozzie may have felt (if any) today.

I would have to guess that Shingo was nervous in his ST debut... I suppose Ozzie has his first one on one pep talk to give.

How about "as many predicted".

But still, sounds like an almost-error cost him, plus it was his first outing... let's hope he improves.

I know it's still early and it's only his first game, but I would like to go on record as saying I wasn't excited about him either.

Is that Shingo "Mr. Zero" Takatsu, or Shingo "A big zero" Takatsu?

also given the fact that Ozzie already publicly expressed concern about the Sox poor base running and execution of fundamentals after the Intersquad game, I can't think he's going to be very happy after what he saw today.

How many blown bunt attempts? Plus the error by Crede plus the stupid base running by Burke plus how many failures to get runners from second over to 3rd?

Let's hope things improve and we don't have a repeat of last season's follies.

Well, I think that THIS year those things aren't going to be overlooked or chaulked up to "Oh it's still early" or "That's what spring training is for." They are going to be addressed. Now, getting them corrected is another story and that remains to be seen.

LOL! I can't believe somebody actually remembered that...Yeah, those were good times...

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to post at all since I've been busy with school and looking for a job and all that good stuff that comes with "growing up". I'm more of a "lurker" now on WSI since I read what you guys post and not really respond to it. Anyway, I will try to do play-by-play one of these ST games if and when I finally get some free time...Anyway, since it's Unofficial St. Patrick's Day down here at the University of Illinois...

TUCSON - Here is my first report from the Old Pueblo. At this time, I was supposed to be at the University of Arizona for tonight's baseball game against Sacramento State. Alas, that game was postponed (http://arizonaathletics.ocsn.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/030504aaa.html). Bad weather in California caused Sacremento State not to make it to Tucson on time for tonight's game.

As for today's game at Tucson Electric Park, I got there in the bottom of the fifth inning. I do not know who started, and there were only a handful of regulars still playing when I got there. It was a compelling game that the White Sox won 4-3 in the bottom of the tenth. I have not seen the rest of this thread, but I am probably about to repeat the negative comments about Shingo Takatsu. The guy did not impress me at all.

"Mr. Zero" had zero control, and he gave up three hits to his first three batters. Granted, the first two hits should have been ground ball outs in my opinion. However, the first impression I have of Takatsu is not a positive one.

I plan to attend tomorrow's game at TEP.
