But don't steriods directly effect what happens on the field?

I'm telling you, these Milwaukee people make no sense!!! :o:

Nice way to disprove the critics Bud; with a gag order. I'm CONVINCED nobody in baseball is on steroids now!

Maybe Bud wants to take the heat off of Sosa so he'll get another invation to Sosa's next birthday party.

We all want the focus to be about the game on the field.

Maybe everybody shouldn't have kept looking the other way as guys that weigh 170lbs w/ 20hrs turned into guys that weigh 250 w/ 60+.

I don't get it, are the fields are steroids too?

Seriously, this isn't going away. He can try to suppress it all he wants, but it's still going to be the #1 topic in baseball throughout baseball this season. It's going to get worse before it gets better.

I hope to God that one day Sammy's name also pops up as one who had received steroids. He would need more than earplugs when he comes to the Cell this summer if this happens.

Of course Selig wants Focus on the Field. This is just another Controversial Incident, During his Regime, that is further
Tarnishing The Game as we know it. Of course he wants the focus on the field. (SHhhhhhhhh, if we dont talk about it, maybe it will go away, like Carol Sleazak wants)

This guy has Presided over some of the WORST Gaffes and Incidents to ever happen to a "commissioner"
.
From Botching an All-Star Game(how do you ruin an allstar game?)
to Loaning Money to his best friend (impropriety) the Twins,
to Actually Telling Best Friend the Twins they would be "Contracted" resulting in them Passing up Mark Prior (conflict of interest and forever Altering Baseballs Landscape, esp the Twins) to EXPANDING when the game DIDNT need the extra teams in a SHort-sighted attempt at giving the "Poor" teams a much needed infusion of cash (though temporary), To Allowing Expansion team to Dictate where it was to be placed (lack of leadership) resulting in Him "martyring" his Brewers and moving them to the NL (more conflict of interest) This guy was a
commissioner? Now......he was the same guy, Giddily in 1998 talking about how "baseball is saved", Casually commenting on New Rivalries where Rivalries never existed before between his Brewers and chicagos cubs (conveniently forgetting SOX vs Brewers was an annual rivalry for Years before) on a national telecast. Great Commissioner.
When is this guy stepping down again? Cant wait.

Umm Hangar,to set the record straight,Carl Pohlad,as owner of the Twins, loaned money to the Bud Selig, the owner of the Brewers, not the other way around as you have suggested. It was one of the reasons he was called a liar on the stand when he testified on Capitol Hill.

MLB expanded for one reason, and one reason only,to pay the damages they were assessed when they were proven guilty of collusion in the 80's,without the money brought in from franchise fees levied against the new teams the owners would have been stuck paying that 1/4 of a billion dollars out of their own pockets.

Might be time to change the tinfoil again my freind.

Of course Proud To Be Your Bud wants the focus on the field....

God forbid if the players that baseball built their marketing campaign around after the 94 labor impasse (McGwire, Sosa, Bonds) get indicted... (and God forbid that it comes out that owners knew about this but turned the other way...)

And of course he's behind another :"Jackie Robinson Day" April 15. Because no one will complain about that. Didnt we have that when 42 was retired for all teams?

Thank you for the correction, but the main part of the argument is still the same.....one of those 2 was subject to priviledged information.
Information he would NOT have gotten otherwise HAD THERE BEEN A REAL COMMISSIONER
