I'm wondering if anyone knows which players we have that are running out of minor league options. Is there anyone we will lose if they don't make the team?

If Ginter gets called up this year it will be his last option year.

Ginter is on the 40-man roster, so the option would be exercised if he were sent down. Getting called up does not affect him once he is already on the 40-man.

He was added to the 40-man roster when called to Chicago in 2000. Therefore, he was optioned to Charlotte in 2001, 2002 and 2003, using up his three option years. Ginter, will have to clear waivers to be sent to Charlotte this year, whether in April to start the season or during the season.

Jon Rauch, on the other hand was not added to the 40-man roster until 11-20-01, meaning he was optioned to Charlotte in 2002 and 2003, giving him one more option year.
