Niiice. I'm excited already. I think I might in fact make the trip from El Paso to Tuscon when I head down there in a couple of days. Should be a fun time.

It seems like ozzie's strategy is to be friends with everyone while keeping their respect at the same time. For the sake of the team I hope it works

Ozzie looking a little rough with the five oclock shadow.

Listening to the score this afternoon, they were interviewing George Offman (sp?) who stated that Magglio mentioned that he:

1. Would like a contract similar to Vlad (5 Yr. $70M)

2. That the 2 sides are talking (meaning his agent and KW)

Yeah no kidding. He had a good goatee going at the press conference.

Yes, I guess that he was so upset about all of those trade rumors he decided to get there early.

So much for the media "reports" that he was unhappy...losers.

I'd love for Maggs to re-sign. Especially since it looks like Thomas isn't coming back next year

I hope they get the Maggs deal finished before opening day.

But, who said Frank isn't coming back?

Frank is obviously unhappy. Kenny Williams has explored trades for him. And with all the money he's making, our small-market team can't possibly keep him around much longer.

Nice to see Maggs still in White Sox garb. I would've liked Nomar and Damon but I love Maggs and the thought of him in another team's uniform just seems wrong. Here's hoping Reinsdorf comes to his senses and lets KW give Maggs the extension he deserves.

How awesome would it be if Maggs signed an extension before wood and d. lee?

Maggs may be unhappy but he has never been one to let it affect his on-field play, his off-field demeanor, or his relationship with his teammates.

Maggs=Professional

Just in case it was misconstrued, I was being sarcastic.

That would be wonderful to sign him before the year starts, I think it would help a lot with the public image of the club. Good to know he is locked up and not gone after this year, leave some hope for the future.

Unless either Frank returns to his pre-injury form, or he decides he has had enough of the Sox and is willing to take a paycut, he will be here for the next two years. I don't see anyone paying him 10 and 12mm over the next two years . Frank as a .260, 35HR hitter isn't likely to draw a 11mm per offer from anyone.

For the sake of the team I hope it works Well the players seem to like it so far, even including what Frank has said. It is the exact opposite of the atmosphere JM has brought into his club house, and that bolds well in my opinion.
