Correct. Cashman knew last season about the discrepency and told the Rangers before the deal was done.

That said, this makes the trade that much worse for Texas.

Ole George is getting a bargain, only paying the best player in baseball about 16 million and year & Texas pays the rest. What a deal, for the Yanks.
