View Full Version : ideas for spring training fun

hey there,

I'm going to spring training for the first time in Tucson. i haven't been since the sox were in sarasota(coincidentally- it was jordan's first year and i was his bat boy in the inter-squad game). can anyone offer any advice as to what to expect? i want to get there this weekend and maybe watch some pitchers and catchers throw- especially to find out if billy koch is back to full speed.

will i be able to watch players practicing or is the public only invited to games?

what are some cool spots in the area to hang out?

are there any white sox fan events?

what are the good restaurants? hotels?

what are some things i should be sure not to miss?

if anyone can offer any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks a lot!

Check out a thread started about a month ago about things to do in Tucson:

sorry about that-

i'm a newbie!

thanks, though.

i'm still wondering, though, if i can just wander about and watch players practice and throw the ball around, or do i have to wait for games to start to see some action.

Yes you can go to the practice fields and watch A-B games...they start about 11:00 or so...there are some small bleachers to sit and watch...it's pretty cool cause you can hear what KW and his minions are saying...very intimate....wish I was back in Tucson!! :)
