According to Rotoworld. com, James Baldwin signed with the Mets. For a minor league deal, we should've made him our 5th starter.

Why... so we can guarantee a good butt pounding every 5th day?

Agreed. For some strange reason, people have wanted James Baldwin back in the Sox rotation ever since he left. Baldwin had a few decent seasons, but was never good. Why anyone would want to waste spot in the rotation with this guy is beyond me. You are better off taking your lumps with a younger guy, who can at least learn & get better with the experience.

He never had a full season where he was effective.

Um...I believe you forgot to use teal on that obviously sarcastic comment, right?

Baldwin was always one of my favorites.

He pitched the 2000 playoffs on nothing but heart .

No way we should've tried to sign Baldwin to a minor league deal. We caught lightning in a bottle once with Loaiza. How many times do we think we can do the same thing or something similar?
