We got Shingo for the same price, why would we go after him too? The pen isn't where we need the help.

On paper, San Diego could have a very good bullpen...Hoffman, Beck, Osuna and I know they have a 4th guy who has been solid his entire career. (Sorry the name escapes me...)

The Padres are a good team on paper... Whether or not that will translate into wins, we'll see.

I am just glad someone picked up Osuna so that he didn't end up here. You can take him and Embree and shove them both off of a ledge. 95 mph fastballs that don't have movement go a LOOOOOOONG way!

Funny Embree did fantastic with the red Sox last year....how do you account for that?

Perhaps a change of scenery did him some good. All I know is that I used to cringe when we brought him in.

Was Embree around during the Nardi years? That could explain pretty much everything.

Embree was Terrible for the White SOX. I remember a lot of balls
being hit HARD off him. That was Never Good

Yes it is. We've lost two steady guys (Flash and Sullivan) and we're replacing them with two very big question marks (Dr. Zero and Cliff Politte), believe me we're going to need the help.

El Cannon in SD huh? I'm not too worried. I'd rather have Koch/Shing/Marte taking the closer duties that Osuna

Not only that, but everybody keeps talking about how Sullivan is this huge loss for the Sox and we're lost without him. This guy pitched fourteen innings for us last year in 9 games.

YEAR G GS IP H R HR BB SO K/9 W L Hld Sv BS BAA WHIP ERA
2003 - AL 15 0 14.1 9 6 2 6 13 8.16 0 0 2 0 0 .184 1.05 3.77

His number hold up well, but how much of an impact did he have. Replace him, I bet Politte can put up these number for at least 14 innings.

On paper the White Sox should win the AL Central nearly every year!

Nothing against Mr. Zero but I'd rather have Osuna.

I completely agree, never really understood all the griping that went on around here when we didnt hold onto Sullivan. I mean from some of the games I remember him pitching in, I think if he pitched more than 14 innings those numbers could have gotten worse as well as better. I think our pen is relatively solid this year. Hopefully none of them will digress into Rick White disease. ugh
