Yahoo sports had this neat little story about how season ticket sales jumped as a result of the Pudge signing. Perhaps someone could slip this under JR's door...

Edit: I can't figue out why the link doesn't work either. I copied and pasted it from the browser to the http box, copied as a shortcut and pasted it into the http box, copied and pasted into word and then copied and pasted it into the box (just to make sure I was getting the whole thing.

Oh well, it is on Yahoo Sports under the by line Tigers tickets sales soar

JR signed a big time free agent a few years back, Albert Belle. His signing had almost no effect on season ticket sales.

However, there was an increase in sales after the Colon trade last year.

How much was Colon and how much was because of the All-Star Game?

A friend of mine (Tigers fan) is making plans for the WS parade.

Actually, listening to him talk about the bottomless chasm the Kitties still have to crawl out of suddenly makes being a Sox fan not so bad.

I don't have links to the articles, but I distinctly remember reading articles referring to a boost in season ticket sales during the week after the trade.

Sox fans were smart enough to realize that Belle was a bozo and didn't bite!

Signing a marque player at $10 million a year will increase season ticket sales. But not by $10 million. That idea is ludicrous.

Not that I wouldn't mind seeing it though. :D:
