I just got the 2004 Spring Training Baseball Yearbook, and it predicts that the White Sox will win the AL Central despite the losses of Bartolo Colon and Tom Gordon. They believe our hitting will lead us to the division. They also predict that the Cubs will win the NL Central. Its other division winners are: Yankees, Angels, Phillies, and Padres.

The yearbook magazine also lists baseball's Top 100 Prospects, and the White Sox have four of them: Jeremy Reed (9), Kris Honel (64), Joe Borchard (75), and Neal Cotts (91). That ranks us 10th in Major League Baseball, tied with the Cubs and three other teams who also have four. The Braves leads MLB with 7 prospects.

I wonder who the "spring training yearbook" chose the last couple of years to win the AL central. Its good to hear that is some support for the White Sox.

Let's hope they are right.

It would be nice to have a chance to tie the MLB record for most consecutive home post season losses (10) currently held by the Phillies.
