That's a good thing unless we got something great in return and we probably wouldn't. There's nothing left on the market and we have nothing to fill in for Jose other than Uribe.

I am very happy that we are keeping Jose Valentin. He is rapidly becoming my favorite Sox player.

Actually that's not totally correct. Jose himself spoke on the WGN-TV sports tonight and said that Kenny assured him he'd be starting the season in a Sox uniform.

Jose himself said that anything could happen by mid season but that he hoped to be in a Sox uniform for another three / four years.

It could be worse - we could have the repeat of Royce Clayton starting if Jose leaves. Just take Phil Rogers' word for it, " Valentin goes to the Yankees for prospects and the defensively gifted Juan Uribe becomes a regular."

Valentin plays with a lot of heart and intensity, i'm very happy he's staying
