First impressions

Baker said the most amazing thing he saw in his first season managing in Chicago was "all the people I saw staggering home after games. That was amazing.

"Seven or eight people, locked arm in arm sometimes, holding each other up. Those people have a good time.

"This town has the best time I've ever seen people have on a daily basis, and the weather doesn't stop them at all. People don't complain about it. I find that pretty amazing." - Chicago Cubune.

I should disclose that the photo is not a part of the article that I quoted from. It is however a photo of a Cubbie fan taken during their playoff collapse.

When Dusty said, "...(Fans) locked arm in arm sometimes, holding each other up. Those people have a good time." I thought of this photo of the cops arm-in-arm with this miscreant.

That pic is from October, but something tells me that the guy probably still has "Go Cubs" in faded permanent marker all over his body in mid January.

Notice Dusty's quote says nothing about baseball. Nothing.

Good work Dr. Crawdad. I also found this while surfing the 'net this morning. I lllluuuvvvvv looking at dejected and cry baby Cub fans!!! LOLOh Noooo!!!! (http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/events/chi-031015cubs-loss-photogallery,0,6238904.photogallery?coll=mmx-home_promo_left)

I also noticed how the media made practically no mention of the near riot that ensued after the Game 7 Loss to the Marlins. Look at pictures # 13 & 14 in that scroll. If that had been the Sox fans getting out of control, the media in this town would've had a field day.

And to think that we still have to put up with crap about the
Ligues and Dybas. And will in seasons to come, no doubt.
What does Dave Hoekstra have to say? Is he as offended
as he was when a few Sox fans picked on that poor, innocent
Cubbie fan who was sitting in the Cell and not bothering
anybody at all?

Dusty Baker's been a manager in the NL for over 10 years & he's just figuring out that Cubs fans are a bunch of drunken morons? Sheesh he's dumber than I thought.

The Cubune's website posted pictures of Ligue and Dybas for months on the White Sox page. They must have overlooked the Cubs gem at the start of this thread........

Don't worry eriqjaffe, I posted a link to those rioting pics on that Northwestern discussion. It will be interesting to see if it sparks a response. :D:
