If you think about for a couple of reasons.
1) It keeps him away from Cubs
2) The Sox may take the Tigers more seriously and thus cause them to win more games against them
3) The Twins won't go 18-1 against Detroit or whatever there record is cuz Pudge Rondell and Vina will be on DTroit.
Thats my opinion on the whole deal.

I don't expect Rodriguez to have that good of season in 2004. He was healthy last season, but I don't think he's going to make it through another injury-free campaign. I realize that Detroit is willing to try anything and everything to improve, but they made a mistake offering him ten million dollars a year. He's not going to be on the field enough to justify that huge contract.

Don't worry. The Sox should be able to overcome Cornejo by bunting constantly. Even Frank and Maggs are expected to get into the act.

Just the threat of a bunt will keep opposing teams on their toes.

Does anybody find it strange that somebody would want an all star calibre player on one of our rivals to keep him off the Cubs? As the Brits would say, "You're all losing the plot."

Even if the Tigers sign Pudge, it won't make them anywhere near being contenders. I say sign him, who cares. We won't. It keeps teams like the Twins and Royals from getting him. That's all we would need.
