the best quote?

The infield has been rebuilt to help a pitching staff heavy on ground-ball pitchers. Royce Clayton remains a vacuum cleaner at shortstop.

The Colorado air won't effect his defense much, if any. It could only help his offensive stats though.

He could have been described him as a vaccuum when he was on the Sox too, for he sure did suck!

Phil picks the Rockies to be one of the surpise teams in the NL West... What are 2 of his 5 reasons?

Royce Clayton and Aaron Miles.

I love that you guys came up with nearly identical thread titles... :D:

Of course, and to think, that dynamic duo up the middle could have been the Sox staple for years to come!

Royce Clayton remains a vacuum cleaner at shortstop.

Translation: "As a shortstop, this guy is a great janitor."

That's one nicely paid janitor.

I can't believe Phil wrote that, how many vacuum cleaners duck hot grounders to pad their stats?

That's a pretty crazy article. Improving by 16 wins (or even 13 wins using the pathagorean record) is almost unheard of although the Cubs did pull it off last season. Rogers touts Miles batting average but fails to mention his horrific OBP and power numbers.

Power numbers will most certainly go up in Coors, though. Maybe he'll slug his weight.

Coould get Royce above the Mendoza line early in the season ...

Since when has Phil Rogers ever known anything that he writes about?
