LMAO! O's overpaid.

But let me just state that the White Sox are the most pathetic sports Organization next to the SlackHawks in Chicago..... and if the Cubs have a good '04, anything the Sox do after that will be an afterthought. I'm done.

Good, now I don't have to see 15 threads a day about how the Sox should sign Ponson.

Reading the same thing day after day gets tiresome.

Please. If the sox had signed him for that much you'd still be dissappointed because he's not worth that much.

Teams go up and down in cycles. It just happens that right now the Cubs are on an upswing and our team is on a downswing. It's cyclical. Real fans stick it out.

Don't you have to have an upswing for their to be a downswing? If we just had our upswing then I'm not looking forward to the next step!

O's overpaid and are about to become the new Mets.

Sox are still no further than before. This franchise would be dead in any other division.

I was never on the Ponson bandwagon and especially considering how much the O's laid out for him, I'm glad we didn't sign him.

I second this.

This just proves that the team has given up. They don't care about winning. Awww!! The Cubs are so popular. I hate myself.

Now that Ponson is gone, does Hangar's allegiance hinge upon Greg Maddux?

I 'll take the Sox starting lineup and rotation over the Orioles and it will cost less money. If they had not signed Ponson that would have been a horrible starting 5.

The O's are better than last year for sure, but they are playing in arguably the toughest division in the AL if not baseball. Their stating rotation doesn't impress me either although their position players have improved a lot with the FA signings. The Yankees are always tough, the Red Sox have added Schilling, and Toronto has quietly added solid arms to their rotation which bolsters their high powered offense. Even with all of the additions Baltimore has made, I can still see them finishing in 4th place. I still admire their ownership for signing all those players though. Must be nice to land all those top free agents in one offseason.

This team has been on a self-imposed downswing then for at least 20 years. If you're counting World Series, then it's 50 years and counting. And all along we're fed excuses.

I'M POOR! POOR! Uh, you can prop the door open with one of my bricks from Ebbets Field. I only bought $1,000,000 worth. Or perhaps this Pee Wee Reese signed ball. I have 10 more in the back.

I'm kind of relieved the sox didn't do this. I liked Ponson at 3years, 18 million. This is too much. If the sox are going to spend money they should spread it around a bit.

I'm on the Damian Moss, Livan Hernandez, McLemore trains.

If the Sox signed anybody of impact this offseason besides Uribe, Politte, and a few players to minor league contracts I'd be ecstatic.

And, by your logic, I guess 2000 was the upswing and we've been on the downswing ever since huh?
