79 saves through 98-99 looks like he didn't pitch last year.

This should keep the Cubs signing of Maddux out of the headlines

The Sox would have to sign MICHAEL Jackson to compete media-wise with the Cubs. Hey, if they did, at least they'd have a silver glover on the team. They'd have to get rid of kid's days though.

If this signing is true, I think we've found the underlying theme to the Sox' offseason this year: sign arms that have been broken recently cheaply, and hope those players can play like they did 3 years before their arm problems.

Next up on the plate: bringing back Mike Sirotka.

There's nothing to lose in a minor league contract.

Well, some of you might rejoice in the fact that Sandberg's career was pretty much downhill after Jackson broke Ryno's hand in a spring training game.

The sox have become mlb's version of the Statue of Liberty.

Albert Belle, Kenny Lofton, The Super Alomar Bros., Bartolo Colon, Mike Jackson. Looks like the Sox just want the mid-late 90's Indians.

Next pick-up: Carlos Baerga

Baerga was listed as a top underappreciated players in baseball on some weird article on ESPN the other day.

I looked it up, it was an article about baseball's best kept secrets.

Best kept secrets (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1706262)

If someone was to ask you who is tenth in games pitched all-time, would you say Mike Jackson? Because he is- 960 games, 27 behind ninth-place Lindy McDaniel (Dan Pleasac is fourth, John Franco is sixth).

Considering our recent signings (Santiago, Person, Politte) and the fact that Jackson didn't pitch last year, I think it will be very hard for him to make the team. He did pitch well for the Twins in 2002, but I can't see him making a comeback after missing a whole season.

This guy has got to be pushing 40 years old. I realize that not much is lost with minor league contracts, but come on, there has to be somebody better out there to take a shot at - this guy is ancient.

:KW

"Next up - Stanley Coveleski."

Jackson might be old, but he could still have some juice left in him.

He wouldn't be the first Sox player to wear one glove for no apparent reason.
