Report: Mets sign Looper

The report says it's a 2 year deal...

The deal, which is worth approximately $6.5 million, is essentially complete, but won't be finalized until Looper passes a physical with the Mets' physician.

This means the sox are stuck with Botch.

As much as I cringe about keeping Koch, I'd rather keep him than lose him and have him revert to form with another team.

I'd have given him a chance to compete for a closers job, but not for that much with Koch still on the books.

I don't know if its more dissapointing that we missed out on another reliever that could help us or that our only chance of dealing Kotch is now eliminated. The latter is probably harder to take.
