You beat me to the punch by about 2 minutes, Scotty. The M's signed him to a 1-year deal for $6.875M. Yep, now a trade would be needed to land him. From what the M's GM said, this would NOT be impossible...

Even if he was still availible via trade, do you guys really think the Sox would take on his $6.8 million contract? I really doubt it. Maybe at 4 or 5 mil, but at 7, I bet the Bargains-Only Sox will pass.

WE REALLY need this guy. Argh, this sucks. If no Ponson, I'm going to be really really down on next year, being that KW is going to make a deal.
