White Sox recall Joe Crede and Matt Ginter

CHICAGO -- Prior to Monday's game, the Chicago White Sox recalled third baseman Joe Crede and right-handed pitcher Matt Ginter from Class AAA Charlotte.
Crede, 23, batted .276 (128-for-463) with 17 home runs and 65 RBIs in 124 games with the Knights. The right-handed batter collected 52 extra-base hits, including 34 doubles, and posted a .349 on-base percentage. He ranks fifth in the International League in extra-base hits and his 34 doubles are tied for third.
Crede appeared in 10 games with the White Sox from June 9-for-22, batting .167 (5-for-30) with three RBIs. In 17 major-league games with the Sox in 2000-01, Crede is batting .227 (10-for-44) with no home runs and six RBIs.
Ginter, 23, was 2-3 with a 2.59 ERA (22 ER/76.1 IP) in 22 games (10 starts) with Charlotte during three different stints with the club. Ginter is 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA (20 ER/26.2 IP) in 14 games with the White Sox in 2001. He struck out 17 and walked 10, while opponents batted .263. Ginter was up with the Sox from June 5-16 and July 2-August 24.
Both arrived in time for Monday night's game with the Indians. Crede will wear uniform No. 24, while Ginter will wear No. 58.
