As July 31st approaches a lot of people have been talking about the Sox trading a few people. The two names being mentioned are Konerko and Mags. They say we can't sign Mags after arbitration but I recall hearing something in the spring about Mags wanting to sing a long-temr contract. He's the guy we need out in RF and Reinsdorf has to open the pocket books to pay him. He's a three time all-star at the age of 27, letting him go would be a huge mistake. Everyone says Konerko is avaible becuase of the emergence of Liefer. However, Liefer is 27, Konerko 25. Konerko has already played several years at the big league level and is now showing that he is a legit 35 HR 100 RBI guy. I think for this year the Sox should trade Herbert Perry and although Liefer isn't the greatest third basemen in the world paly him there. When Crede is ready (mid 2002?) then he becomes a super utility guy (playing LF/RF/1B/3B).
The Sox cannot give up now. Canseco has been a huge lift and is showing that he still belong sin baseball although next year he won't be with the Sox. This is a line-up that can mash and we can win a lot of games in the second half. We need to trade Clayton, get Jose healthy, and we'll be fine.

I've said it before, and I will say it again.

If we let Magglio go, this franchise is sunk. Magglio is very popular, and if Jerry Reinsdorf thinks that his 23,000-25,000 fans per game average is bad, wait until he reads that his White Sox are duking it out for last place with Montreal in the attendance race.
