He would have made a good 5th starter for us.

This is no big lose. I would much rather have one of the young guys in the 5th spot .....if that's what it came to.

Suppan sucked for the BoSox despite having a good run with the Pirates. I think he'll do well for the Cards. I'd rather have someone more proven in the AL.

He's spent most of his career with KC. I would have liked to see him as a 5th starter. Oh well.

Okay, are there any players that KW is NOT interested in? I mean at least verbally. When it comes time to commit, he seems to be lacking...

I will monopolize the market on corner outfielder/DH- and middle infielder-types.

No he wouldn't. He is nothing. All you can hope is that he manages to eat enough innings with the Cards so he doesn't wear out their bullpen and maybe that'll benefit them and hurt the Cubs.

I think that access to Uncle Jerry's checkbook is the main thing KW is lacking.

AWESOME - this is the best news for the sox all offseason. One FA that nobody (except KW) wanted off the table. Things are starting to look up.

Here we go with the "young guys" again. This sparks bad memories of last season's debates, but I would agree that Suppan is not the same catch this year that he might have been last year... there are other guys I'd rather have, like Ponson or Garcia.

In light of the Sox very limited budget, spending $6 million over two years on Suppan would not have been wise. There are much better ways to spend that money.
