I was just looking at the standings and I realized that the Sox(in 3rd place) are closer to 1st place than all of the other 2nd place teams in the AL(other than Minnesota obviously).

Wow, St. Louis was right in it after that winning streak, and now they still have a good record, but they are 7 games out. That's rough.
