In rule 5 draft. We didn't lose anyone.

I was wondering what all the 'WE GOT HIM' headlines were about.

Who is he and how is this significant?

He was a pitcher that was highly touted coming out in 1997. I believed he was selected 4th overall by the Giants, then traded in the Livan Hernandez deal. I don't know much more than that.

He's had a bunch of injuries. He'll be 27. Last year he struck out like 37 in 66 innings in AAA, so I'm not too excited.

He'll fit right in.

27? Geez...maybe I still have hope - I am only 32. If we trade Mags and Frank, I might be a decent option at 1B. I am faster than Konerko, I have better plate discipline than Valentine. I have more power than Willie Harris and I have better field vision than Crash. In my 12 inch softball league last year, I made fewer errors per chance than Frank ever did and I had more range than Daubach at 1B. Above all, I would be one of the Chairman's favorites, for one simple reason - I would be willing to sign a contract to play for the league minimum, and have 2/3 of that money deferred.

Kenny, if you are interested, leave me a post. I can meet you anytime you want for a tryout.

YUCK...I am starting to get awful depressed. I am trying to wait until the season starts. I was so pumped last year up until the Paniagua moment... It is getting hard for me to hold that level of excitement.

We had NOBODY unprotected that was even interesting to other teams to take a shot at...that's fairly sad.

If he does not work out, we offer him back to the Marlins and only lose $25K. If he does, he could be a nice addition to the bullpen.

Oh, I'm not saying it's a bad move. I'm just not excited. I would imagine he makes our roster
