Mags and Koch for Reyes and Leiter:)

then Konerko and Jose for Brown

Leiter makes 8 million per = Konerko

20.125 for Mags and Koch > 15 million for Brown

Jose's 5 > Reyes 300 K

Roughly 10 million in savings and the makings of a really nice Rotation

SS is taken care of... RF of course becoming a big ??

C- Olivo 300K Alomar 750
1B - Thomas 6
2B - Walker 3.75
SS- Reyes 300K
3B - Crede -350 K
OF- C. Lee 6.5
OF - Jay Payton 2
OF - ?
DH - ?
Reed, Borchard, Uribe, Willie Harris bench types
21.5 there so far

SP - Brown 15
SP- Leiter 8
SP- Buerhle 4
SP- Loiaza 4
SP- Garland 2
33 there

CL - Marte 500 K
MR - Ginter 300 K
MR- Wright 300 K
MR- Pete Munro 300 K

1.5 or so but more is needed in the pen

Sitting at 56-57 with needs (always have needs)

A Daubauch/ Travis Lee/Jeffrey Hammonds type wouldn't break the bank...and you could spend 1.5 on a pretty good reliever

Puts you at 63-65 once you fill the holes

I have no idea how reasonable any of this is, but I was bored

I dont like this gutting our team approach. I truly believe Mags, Frank, and C.Lee should be untouchable.

The only guys we should be shopping, because of salary, are Valentin, Konerko, and Koch. Preferably only two of those 3 at that.

You forgot to budget money for all the hurricanes you'd have to buy Jim Duquette at the winter meetings.

I don't see any shot at either of these. First, the Mets have absolutely no interest in trading Reyes. None - under any circumstance. They plan to move either Reyes to 2B or 3B (and Wigginton to 2B). They think Reyes will be there for years to come with his talent. Certainly they won't trade him for two guys who are 1 year away from FA.

As far as the Dogders, if they are trading Kevin Brown, I don't see it for those two guys. The should be able to get far better talent - right?

It sounds nice - and I like it. But I'll bet good money that neither of the other teams would be interested in either of those deals.

Its going to take some crazy talk and some thinking outside of the box to get within the Sox self-imposed budget constraints.
