Yankees are looking to deal Weaver to the Dodgers for 39-year old Kevin Brown. He makes $30 million the next two seasons. He would seriously bolster their rotation and cover a lot of the loss in losing Wells, Clemens, and Petitte. Maybe a switch to the NL and a different team would benefit Weaver.

I think pitching in that bigger park, Dodger Stadium, would help his tendancy to give up the long ball too... I would imagine that the yanks would have to throw in a Bat with weaver thought tooo to get it done!

Good... Great I hope it happens. Maybe it would improve our slim chances of Bart coming back if it does go through.

Am I the only one here who thinks Jeff Weaver stinks?

I wouldn't want him on the White Sox even if the Yankees were willing to give him to us AND pick up his salary - the guy stinks.

Any thoughts as to how this would impact the chances of LA acquiring Konerko?

If this pans out and becomes another nail in Bartolo's hopes to get out of Chicago, will he be just as sulky as Frank next year?

Nope. He will probably go to arbitration with the Sox and will be in a free agent year again.

No. He's an extremely average pitcher at best. He's been about as effective as a T-Ball stand though in NY.

It would help the odds....LA would have more money to play with....and it would prove they like to make stupid moves:)

cbssportsline is reporting that Nick Johnson would be in the deal as well so we do not want this one to work. They report that negotiations are not hot.
