I had a question for anyone who may know about Konerko's contract...
I was searching the web and found this site: MLB Contracts (http://www.bluemanc.demon.co.uk/baseball/mlbcontracts.htm)
On the site it says that Konerko gets 500k if he is traded in 2004 or 2005. It also says his salary jumps up to $8.75m in 2005.
Most of the contracts on that site check out with official team web sites, but I can't find anywhere to verify PK's contract status.
Also, if the Sox trade him in the next 30 days, do we save the $500k?
Thanks

No, Konerko only sees that money if another team is paying his salary.

I love the offseason
"Hey why aren't you jumping?"
"I can't swim"
<Laughter>
"What are you laughing about?"
"Can't Swim? Hell, the fall will probably kill you!"
500 K in the scope of PK is peanuts(if LA wants us to pay that extra 500 K to get Perez...done and done)

Glad someone caught my butchered reference....though movies can help get you through.....For instance
When I realized that Royce Clayton was coming back for the final year of his contract, I watched the first 45 minutes of Saving Private Ryan, and the thought of Royce coming back wasn't as haunting anymore
Still pretty bad though
