Nice to see "big market" Kansas City keeping their free agents while "small market" Chicago is letting theirs go.

Well if we had some dollar amounts we could figure out why they could keep them. The entire trio was probably less than one year of Everett, let alone Colon

The article mentioned the Royals could not offer arbitration to those players - why not? What allows a team to offer it?

As for the signings, nice job by the Royals tying up those key pieces. AL Central is not going to be a cakewalk for anybody.

Ughh! I really wanted to sign Leskanic. What's he thinking signing for 1.375? I would've given him 3.

Well if a pitcher the calibur of Anderson only signed a 2 year deal at 3.25 mil per, I dont see why the sox cant get a Ponson for 6-7 mil per for 3-4 years

Good for KC. Randa, Leskanic, and Anderson were three of the more consistent, solid, veteran pieces of their puzzle. If they can hang onto these guys and not have so many young guys they'll keep getting better. I liked Leskanic with the Brew Crew and he's very good. I wish we could've gotten Anderson and offering up to $7-8 million over two years would've been ok with me. Randa is older, but 3 million isn't bad for some solid production and SOX KILLING.

I'd rather have Anderson at that price than Ponson at his. He pitches the AL Central extremely well.
