I stumbled onto that Ed Herrmann website last year. It initially claimed that Hoggy had caught both Horlen's and Dierker's no-hitters. I informed the webmaster that J.C. Martin had caught Horlen's. At least Ed's contribution to the event was downgraded to his having 'participated'. In any event, he did not appear in the game at all. He had a grand total of 3 at bats for the Sox in '67, and was likely in the bullpen as a September callup.

Who recorded the last three putouts of Horlen's no-hitter? None other than hoopster Cotton Nash.
