Cheeses finally gets redemption for that 200 post thread he started last week. This was obviously the big deal he was waiting for...

Of course, Dransfeldt is one of the few players at this level who can single-handedly increase the White Sox fan base.

Sign local AAAA players and get their families to attend games to boost attendance - a new strategic initiative from the front office?

He still has a house in Morris, where he led the baseball team to state prominence, while his wife, Erin, guided the Morris softball team to its own state title in 1992 and holds two national individual offensive records.

I always said that I wished I had her talent, Dransfeldt said of his wife.

So why didn't we sign his wife? Clearly, even he thinks she is better.

Think of the possibilities. Dransfeldt, Thomas, and Ordonez in the same lineup. Wow!

What 200-post thread?

He started at shortstop in a 13-1 loss to the White Sox near the end of the 2000 season when teammate Scott Sheldon became the third individual in baseball history to play all nine positions in the same game.

Hey, I was at this game, so I've already seen this guy play.

I knew I sensed his greatness at the time...

The question for me is, do I get the road grey Dransfeldt jersey or the home pinstripes one? Tough call.

Don't worry. I suspect you'll have your choice of a game worn version at the Sox garage sale sometime next winter, right next to Armando Rio's and D'angelo Jimenez's.

LOL and they probably will no doubt try to sell them for $125 each.

I love the idea of going after free talent/six-year minor league free agents...

... but Kelly Dransfeldt is an excruciatingly bad baseball player. His combined numbers between Louisville and Pawtucket: .212/.269/.353. Come on, Kenny, you can do better than this.

On the plus side, he sort of looks like Brian Giles.

So... You're saying we can swap them at the airport and nobody would notice for a while? :D:

This is reality , not some pipe dream or a hot stove rumor but a real White Sox signing.
