The White Sox have purchased the contracts of right-handed pitcher Gary Majewski from Triple-A Charlotte, left-handers Ryan Meaux (Double-A Birmingham) and Ryan Wing (Class A Winston-Salem) and second baseman Ruddy Yan (Winston-Salem)...

Any comments on these additions to the 40-man roster?

Yeah, I am going to start calling Gary Majewski "The Cat" because he seems to have more lives than one.

Yeah, traded to LA received back from LA, left off the 40 man roster, returned to the Sox.

What does the roster move signal? A trade? Or are they simply protecting these players for the upcoming Rule 5 Draft?

Looks like Willie Harris and Aaron Miles got some company in the race for second base!

Gary 'Bad Penny' Majewski - he keeps coming back.

It might mean that they like Majewski and Meaux more than Bajenaru, though none of the three are blue-chippers.

I don't understand the Wing and Yan moves. Are they Rule V eligible already? They're certainly not major league ready.

No Yan and Wing are another story. They may have had clauses in their contracts, but I don't know for sure.

If we don't resign Robbie, Yan might be our best choice. At least he can run.

They probably still have more speed us - and they are all retired.

You think Aaron Miles or Willie Harris can get on base that much more than Yan? I doubt it.

How is Yan's glove?

He uses it as a head ornament.

I know when some of the guys from Soxtalk went to minor league games, they said they were most impressed by Bajenaru, who posts over there a bit. I don't know if they were trying to flatter him or what, but from what I've heard it's not unreasonable to see him in a Sox uni in the future.

Plus, that's one hell of a name. Bajenaru. :D:

You think that makes Yan a good option then?

For what it's worth, with these additions, our 40-man roster is now at 35 (that includes the free agents-to-be).

Surprising fact: Jon Adkins remains on our 40-man roster.

I'm not surprised at all. Remember, KW is the GM. The talent purge is on.
