Little known fact: Greg Swinton, (NOT Craig Barrett as originally stated) CEO of Ryder, is a southsider and big Sox fan.

CEO of Intel huh? Huge Sox fan? Think he has the $$$$$ to buy the Sox from the nefarious cheapskate that currently profits from the team?

Just an idea.

I think that everyone who read the first post in this thread thought the EXACT same thing.

I think we should get a movement started for Barrett to buy the team.

He's worth 400 million. (http://www.time.com/time/digital/digital50/12.html)

How much would it cost to buy the Sox?

$400 million should be more than enough. Make an offer to JR Barrett!!!!!

Not to say he couldn't be a Sox fan, but according to his bio, Barrett was born in San Francisco and attended Stanford. (http://www.intel.com/pressroom/kits/bios/barrett/bio.htm)

Nancy Faust would need to play Mr. Roboto and Renegade at least 5 times per game.

I coulda swore he lived in Chicago for awhile. I met him a couple years ago at a dinner where I learned of his Sox Fandom. I'll check with my peeps, who know him somewhat better than I.

Okay, here's the skinny: I went to two dinners in NY two years in a row. One year it was for Craig Barrett. The next year it was for Greg Swinton, President of Ryder. GREG is the big southside Sox fan, not Craig. My bad. I was drunk at both dinners so you can see how I could get them mixed up.
