SI.com Article/ Why Not Miguel Batista?

SI.com has yet another article covering this year's free agents;

This particular one Big Splash/ Wise Cash (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/writers/john_donovan/11/14/free.agents/index.html) covers a few selective free agents by position, focusing on those that are either 'big splash' or 'wise cash'.

This brings up an interesting question.... Why shouldn't we go after Miguel Batista? Sure, he's no Bartolo, but he seems a good inexpensive option.

I would LOVE to get Miguel Batista. He will do what you want him to...pitch long relief, start, or be a set up man. He is a jack of all trades that has good stuff. Not many people know, but his fastball tops about 97 mph, so he can bring it. Not to mention he has postseason experience, not like that is going to matter, though.

How much would he want? And get?

I'm thinking in the $4 mil range; could we get a better value?
Though he hasn't pitched AL before, so don't know how he'd be.
