I work at a bar 4 blocks from the Urinal and a guy came in late at nite to tell me about how the Marlins bus was escorted out by about 50 members of CPD. The streets were still littered with Cubs fans and the fans were all flippin' off the Marlins bus as it was leaving, and this guy told me the players were giving it right back. You could see the silouettes of the Marlins players' hands in the bus windows with their middle fingers aimed right at Cubs fans.

One more reason to love the Marlins :D:

Great story! Geez, all of my family and friends in Chicago are SO depressed! It's really bringing me down to talk to them, so I just won't talk to them for a while, and just enjoy the fact that the Marlins are back in the World Series.....
...and the Cubs are once again sitting at home....wish I could find that jerk who spit on me at Game 5.....

After reading this thread, I like the Marlins more. For opening day, WSI members should wear at least one piece of Marlins' gear at the Sox opening day.

I would like to adopt the Marlins as our franchise brother.

I second that motion. Here, here on that one. Let's invite Marlins fans to the Cell to join us in cheering for our Sox next summer.

That's not how I heard it. I heard the the entire right side of the Marlin's bus retaliated by mooning the crowd.

If that were true, Kyle Farnsworth would still be plastered to the right side of said bus.

Could somebody refresh my memory. How long will it be until the possibility of our team playing the Marlins through the "miracle" of inter-league play?

They rotate divisions every year, and this year they played the NL west, last year was the East (minus the Marlins), so I'm assuming next year is the central again. So if I am right and IF they go in order, 2005 would be the next time we can play the Marlins. Don't forget one team gets left out so we can play the scrubs 6 times, and the Marlins WERE that team last year because I do remember the Sox playing the Expos, Mets, Braves, and Phils.

The Sox are playing the NL east next year. Not sure of what teams yet as not all schedules have been released. The Phillies released their schedule and they are coming to the Cell in June. Minn and KC have released their schedules and they are playing Atlanta, Mets and Expos etc. So there is a good chance the SOx could play the Marlins next year. That would be cool.

I have no idea what's going on just looking at the Twins schedule for next year. The Twins play the "rival" Brewers 6 times (central) AND Arizona (who the Sox played THIS season) AND the EXPOS, whom the Sox played in 2002! So, the TWINS play NL teams from every division?!?! I guess they must not be rotating every year then like they were supposed to because I know the Sox played the Phillies in 2002. 2003 was the west (how can we forget Colon/Bonds fiasco) now 04 should be the central again. I have no idea anymore. At first it was strictly Central vs. Central, East v. East, and West v. West. But then the little Cubs couldn't play the little Yankees so they went to a rotating basis except for the "Rivals" (Sox would play most of one division AND the Cubs). I have no clue how they do it anymore with the Twins playing a team from every NL division.

I am not sure what is up with that either since the Royals play 6 against the Cards and then 3 each against Expos, Mets, Atlanta and Philly. Cleveland gets 3 against Fla, Montreal, Mets, Atlanta, Colorado and Cincy. Maybe it has something to do with the teams they played from 2002's interleagues games. MLB makes no sense!!!
I just know that so far based on schedules released the Sox will get 3 against Philly, and should have the 6 against the Cubs.
