According to the Daily Herald,

While declining to offer details, Williams again said he'd like to have a manager in place when the White Sox head to Las Vegas in early November for their organizational meetings.

Sox' Williams won't talk about managerial search (http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/sox.asp)

(Note -- it looks like that url might only give the lastest Sox article in the DH.)

What happens at the organizational meetings? Who in the organization is there?

The organizational meetings are basically a meeting of all the scouts (both amateur and pro),the scouting directors, the minor league operations directors, and the general manager.

It is used to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the team all the way to the lower levels of the minors, and to build an offseason plan to address the problems found from those meetings. They will discuss FA's,and who they will or will not pursue, including minor league FA's,as well as their own FA's.

They will also use this to formulate a plan for the amateur draft, based on the organizations conclusions on what is needed the most.

I will give Kenny some credit here, last year the Sox addressed the most glaring needs in a more than satisfactory way,and signing all ten of the top ten picks was the icing on the cake.
