Not really, after he rang up Liefer and was walking away he turned to the Sox dugout and said "take that". Valentin got tossed because of a bad call and he even threw his helmet onto the field after he was ejected. They showed the Sox dugout after Liefer was rang up and Lowe was swearing up a storm along with half the team.

I think he was actually afraid that someone would come out of the dugout and do something. I know he wasn't afraid of the fans because they were for his bad calls.
