I know Pudge went yard, but how did they score the next 2 to get 5 runs? I turned it off and played Madden football after the first, and now the Fish are winning.

Maybe I should keep playing Madden?

Every time I watch the tv, bad things happen. Every time I watch the computer, good things happen.

I am not allowed to look at the tv until this game is over.

"El Pulpo" is on the mound!

And to think the Cubs got him and Clement and all they had to give up was some prospect named Dontrelle Willis! Thanks Florida! :D:

Now I am running out of beer.

I cannot handle this.

Help me my fellow support group!

Wake me from my nightmare.

Even the sign on screen at my kids day-care has GO CUBBIES GO across it. :whiner:

I'm with ya! I've come seeking sanctuary, even living in Colorado i can't put up with this Cub BS. My whole apartment complex erupted when shammy hit his homerun. I was the lone echo throughout when Lowell hit his. C'mon Fish you have to hold this lead!!!!!!

I'm drowning in a sea of Cubbie blue.

What a load of crap. I don't like Sham-ME* either, but if any Sox player did what he did in the bottom of the ninth all of us would be singing his praises for the rest of the season.

That was a heck of a ballgame, made even better by the failure of the North Siders. Sham-me* proves true the ancient proverb that "cheaters never prosper" as the cubs lose, despite having all the momentum from his tying home run. MARLINS WIN!!! :D:

I think hes referring to Shammees homer off a foulke a few years back that tied it up in the 9th, the sox still came back and won in extra innings

thats the other meaningless one he reffered to

I must reply to myself. Since I am a bit loaded up from the frothy ale, my slower typing caused me to type throughout the lower half of the inner.
Hurray!
Just imagine waking up in the morning and having to deal with another cubs win. At least we get a breather and lets get them tomorrow.
If it works, I sacrifice myself and will get loaded for every game and spend it on the boards.
I am a happy man. Time to play with the doggies in the family room and make nachos. :gulp:

How can any homerun that ties a ball game in the last at bat be meaningless? Okay, so they don't count in the W column, but come on. You do that for your team, you deserve praise, every freaking time...

If the HR hadnt of happened, the cubs wouldnt of had the opportunity to win, which they did, it's just that the Marlin offense is better

Maybe so, but I don't think they're meaningless when you tie the game with two down in the ninth. Like someone else said, didn't we praise Konerko for doing that this year?

I HATE extra inning games when you're cheering for the road team, and that's what Shammy gave the Scrubs. I'm just glad he didn't come to bat in the 11th.

Playing the Sox yes. Tonight, I really don't care who wins or loses. I just want to see good baseball. In fact, if I had to pick, I'd probably root for the flubbies to win because most of my "real life" friends are flubbie fans and I'd rather they be happy. That includes my three nephews the oldes of which is just coming to an age to understand how important playoff baseball is.

I try to seperate my frustration over the ending of the Sox season from my feelings about the flubbies. I really try not to pay them much attention.

Heh. Excellent night, AND I didn't subject myself to even one second of the game.

Instead I went to see a movie at the Century (on Clark just north of Diversey), and all we see as we pulled out of the parking lot after the movie were streams of dejected-looking Flub fans walking down the street. A quick tune into AM1000 and we're greeted with a glum-sounding Zambrano.

Sounded like a humdinger of a game.

Go Fish.

I feel bad cuz I've posted on Marlinsbaseball.com more in one day than I have in like two weeks here. What an unbelievable game this was. How clutch are the Marlins. It was awesome to just feel the air get sucked out of the bar I was at when Lowell hit the HR. How awesome. I've been sick but this game made me feel a lot better real quick. Incredible.

No, we were just trying to get the **** out that neighborhood before we got caught in the outgoing traffic. I actually didn't hear the score of the game 'til we were almost home.

I went to a concert at the Metro tonight. That whole area is just crazy. Lame teeshirt stands every block. WGN has a big outdoor broadcasting area. People trying to sell you all kinds of crap and police everywhere! Not to mention the pan handlers.

Due to the game we had to park at Clark and Fullerton and take the bus. I felt sick driving past the Urinal as the cubs scored in the first. Then all the idiots driving honking their horns. It was on the bus going to the Metro that Pudge hit the home run. Saw it from some TV at a bar while stopped.

After the show the game was in the 10th and we just wanted to get out of there. But that 22 bus strikes again. On the way back Lowell comes through!! Kinda makes me wish we would have stayed to see all the dejected fans walking out.

And to top if off. Cub fans breaking bad on the Score. Gotta love it. At least three guys railing on Dusty. I thought he was a genius ?

They no longer trusy in Dusty? And we are supposed to be the bad fans?!

I love the Marlins. First they fill the void left by the White Sox remaining in Chicago, then they rob the Indians of the pennant in 1997 (damn you, White Flag Trade, it should have been us!!!) and now they mean to trash the Scrubs. Excellant. Do this for me, and I will forever sing your praises.

... I may even write a haiku.
