I am not sure what it takes to get a ***Official*** Thread started but I am proposing a thread to get Sox fans information on their team without having to drown in a sea of Cubbie blue media fluffery. I am offering up the first article. A Sun Times piece on Ozzie's desire to manage on the south side.

I am contradicting myself a bit because there is some Cubs crap in these articles but they are mostly about Ozzie.

Guillen has been credited with developing the plethora of young players in the Marlins' clubhouse, and some think he would become a Tony Pena kind of manager, a fiery leader who stresses discipline. As a Sox player, Guillen used to chide a young Ray Durham for wearing his cap backward, telling him it was "disrespectful" to the game.

The more i think about it, I really would like Ozzie as the field general for us next year. We can bring back Ozzie's amigos next to Credes crew on the fan deck :gulp:

I'd like to have Ozzie as manager. I don't think experience is all that it's cracked up to be anyway. Look at Tony Pena, the only reason they didn't win the division is that the Sox choked and they Royals didn't have enough pitching. I think we'd see a similar style of play that the Royals and Marlins have with Ozzie as manager. And he is a great personality, something we need on the South Side anyway.

ok, now here come the complaints......................fire away guys...... :D:

I'd love to see Ozzie managing the Sox. He was always one of my favorite players.

And this:

''My heart is with the White Sox..."

...goes a long way. I think it'd also be a great move from a P.R. standpoint. Bring back one of the most reconizeable Sox from the "good old days." Might help bring a few disenfranchised fans back to Comiskey.

I'm not sure Ozzie would work out because he just might drive everyone nuts.Unless hes' changed a lot he just never shuts up.

Certainly, Guillen is no stranger to the Sox organization. He speaks with Sox board chairman Jerry Reinsdorf on a regular basis. The two remain close to the point that Reinsdorf serves as his financial consultant at times.

I can't imagine THAT being a wise move.

At least you'd know he was awake in the dugout.

Why not? A guy who is a multi-millionaire giving free financial advice sounds like a great idea. Where do I sign up?
