Tidbit from Baseball America...
Miles, who was the Southern League MVP in 2002 and hit .304-11-50 in 546 at-bats for Triple-A Charlotte this season, was among the Sox’ promotions after rosters were expanded to 40.
“I signed in 1995 and have been grinding from then on,” the second baseman said. “It’s awesome to be here for the pennant race.”
Miles, 26, was a 19th-round pick of the Astros in 1995. He was claimed by the Sox in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft in 2000 and has emerged as an offensive presence in the upper levels of the minors. The switch-hitter has hit a combined .300 in his three seasons in the White Sox organization.
He's a grinder Kenny.
