Hey Cheesy, Im pulling for THIGGY too, I think Gagne is Awesome (got to see dodger stadium go bananas when he came in the game and mowed our beloved down on 10 pitches...pretty awesome) I want Thiggy to have the record still

I want Thiggy to have the record. But you have to respect Gagne for making a run at it in an era where managers are positively allergic to letting any pitcher rack up either innings or appearances.

And there is nothing wrong with that mindset either.....Part of the reason Thiggy went down was breaking that record.

I just don't want to read about Thiggy following guys around who are clsoe to the record, like that guy who was the "last" to lose 20 games

...yeah, I just hope Thiggy doesnt do something dumb like
Flatten Gagnes Tires, or Egg his House. If he TIES the record, I can see Thiggy, in southern tradition, TP'ing Gagnes house though....

1990 was still my favorite year as a Sox fan. That was the most exciting team to watch in recent history. They relied upon speed, pitching, defense, sheer desire and enthusiasm and knew how to manufacture runs. They could teach our current crop of players a thing or 2.

NO ONE SHOULD EVER BREAK THIS RECORD.

At least not while I'm alive. There for a while it looked like the only two records I cared about in sports were going to be broken in the same year. Thiggy's 57 and Walter's alltime rushing record. Those two things coupled with this year's Sox and Bears is nearly enough for sports fan suicide.

Gagne could tie at best, assuming they can actually beat the giants twice more, which doesnt seem likely
