loaiza is looking tired. fastball doesn't have much zip, cutter isn't going where it should, changeup is hanging high.

Is there really a point to this thread?

MetalliSox

Giambi should of been rung up on that 2-2 pitch. Mussina throwing and it's a K.

Who wouldnt be as much as he has worked as of late.

Its really going to be sad if he doesnt get #20.

The way he's going, he'd reach 20 losses before 20 wins if the season was longer. Also, somebody please make Daubach go away.

Dear God,

Even though I don't believe in you, can you let the Astros win today and the Flubs lose tonight?

Thank you.

Even though I think ELO has thrown one bad pitch this game, HR to Bernie, it is obvious that on 3 days rest, he is not as effective.

I can hear Manuel taunting us now.

Here's hoping the Astro's hold on because the Cubs have, he he he, Estes pitching tonight. He he ha ha!

Believe me, I'm interested in the Astros game, but can anybody provide some insight on the Sox game (I'm having all kinds of problems with espn.com and mlb.com today) - still 3-0? What inning?

Kilroy

Giants lost. Come on Cinci, show some stones tonight and beat the bleepin Cubs.

Sox have 2 hits today, one by Harris, one by Olivo. The Sox have pounded Mussina's ass for years, but today, when Loaiza is going for 20 again, they come out crappy.

[Voice of God] Although you are a blasphemer, I shall grant you one of these wishes.
It shall be so: Astros 2 - Giants 1.
Now give me 50 Hail Marys and I'll see what I can do about that Cubs game. [/Voice of God] :D:

I *think* I remember this one from Catholic school...

"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb...." and then I forget the rest.

An 8 run inning and there is still only one out. When will they get rid of Mussina today?

This kind of inning is why I was mad they pulled everyone out of the game on Sunday when I was there and we were down by 6. It was clear Jerry didn't care.

But... The boys are clicking today.

Hey, why take Loaiza out. He retired the last 5? Pitch count?

MetalliSox
09-24-2003, 04:01 PM
"Everyday" Marte in for the top of the 7th.

Wish ELO could of pitched the 7th and gotten an standing ovation as he got the 3rd out. But the Momentum Killer, Jerry Manuel, isn't so giving.

Rocky Soprano

I think the pitch count was at 97 for Loaiza.

"And the Sox put a big crooked number up on that board."

I don't have a problem with resting Loaiza. He's thrown a ton of pitches this season and will finish the year starting several games on only three days rest. By the same token, I don't want them to blow out Marte, now that this season is essentially over. One inning here and there is fine, but they really should primarily rely on whichever reliever(s) they plan on dumping this offseason (Gordon? Sullivan?) and give Wright some work in relief.

101 in 6 innings. End of the year, he could of gone one more.

What is this strike zone for Marte?

Rocky Soprano
09-24-2003, 04:06 PM
It would of been nice to see Loaiza at least get one out so he could get a standing O, but of course Manuel is a retard!

No who replaced them when we faced the Twins and KC. This is the post all star game Sox. I hope they take this into the final 4 games and finish strong. Assuming we hold on here we took 2 of 3 in NY and 2 of 3 from the Yanks here. Not too shabby.
