Manuel is nominated for the move of the week award on MLB.com for pinch hitting Miles for Olivo against Minnesota.

I thought it was a joke when I read it.

OMG, that is simply appaling and repulsive. Maybe they forgot what happened to Manuel's TEAM in that series....

Now that is funny. That pitch was way up and out over the plate. It was practically at Miles' eyes. He got lucky, IMO.

Why don't they take a look at the previous PH situation with Miles when he struck out? I guess it wasn't this week.

How about the way they had to wake JM up to get Harris in as a PH? Man, that was one amazing move...

The best part is I got the e-mail whitesox.com titled:

"Jerry needs your help" I thought to myself, now that is an understatement :D:

You've gotta be crappin' me. Move Of The Week? You can bet JM will never see that award again. More like Bowel Movement Of The Week.

THIS CAME TO MY MAILBOX TODAY......

JERRY MANUEL NEEDS YOUR HELP
Vote Manuel for Manager's Move of the Week

Help Jerry Manuel earn this week's Manager Move of the Week honor,
and you could win a trip to the World Series!

In Minnesota last Thursday, White Sox manager Jerry Manuel sends
September call-up Aaron Miles to the plate to pinch-hit for Miguel Olivio
in the top of the seventh inning with the White Sox down 5-2 and a
runner on base in a showdown for first place between the American
League Central rivals. Miles knocks his first career hit, a double
over Shannon Stewart's head in left, scoring Jose Valentin to cut the
lead to 5-3.

However, Manuel's facing stiff competition from Colorado Rockies
manager Clint Hurdle and Dodger skipper Jim Tracy, so cast
your vote today!

Each time you vote, you will automatically be entered for a
chance to win one of many great prizes, including a chance for
one lucky winner to take a friend to a 2003 World Series game.
(No purchase necessary to enter or win. Offer subject to eligibility.)

I got it too and at first I thought it was a joke from a fellow Sox fan friend. Unfortunately, someone high up seriously thinks he should get a "Manager of the Week" nod for his work in Minnesota.

Don't vote for him! We're just getting over his manager of the year award; if he wins move of the week we'll be stuck with him for another 3 years.

Vote against him.

No manager shoudl be nominated for anything positive after his team got swept out of contention for the playoffs.
