Who will you cheer for in the playoffs?

Personally, I like how the giants play baseball. Good pitching, goos situational hitting and Barry Bonds and after going to a game at Pac-Bell, i'm convinced it's baseball heaven

Red Sox, of course:

1. Lots of shots of all-around cutie and Nomar fiancee Mia Hamm in the stands.

2. Nothing would be more hilarious than seeing New Englanders forced to be happy.

3. During ensuing riots in Boston after win, my friends there can loot me a DVD player, plasma TV, and a case of Talisker.

If they make it, I'll root for the Astros. I get the feeling the Cubs will make it though due to their Twins-like schedule the rest of the way. :whiner: :whiner:

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner!

If the 'stros are able to spare us the Flubs making the postseason then I hope they win it all. But I'm supposed to choose between the Twits, Skanks, A's, Mariners or Red Sox in the AL? Jeez, who gives a flying %^*&?
I have zero interest in watching the playoffs this year. That goes quadruple if the Baby Blue Losers back their way into it. The 2003 baseball season pretty much ended for me about an hour ago.

Is there a way for the higher powers on this board to see who voted for who on the poll? I'd like to see who voted for the cubs!

If I had to choose, I'd go with the underdog marlins, or the red sox, cuz lord knows their fans wouldn't know what to do when they are supposed to be HAPPY!?!?

Red Sox, because I hate the Yankees. Houston in the NL. I've been picking Houston for 4 years now, why stop? However, I wouldn't mind seeing Barry and the Giants win it all either. He's a great asset to this sport.

I have 2 suggestions:

1. This poll should include "Nobody" as an option because that would be my vote.

2. The 2 trolls who voted for the Cubs should have their WSI account immediately revoked.

Absolutely.
For me, baseball season is over the day the Sox get eliminated.
For me, football season is already over.
I have all of my pitiful hopes pinned on the Blackhawks, starting their 42nd year without a championship. :(: Maybe a poll question could be, which Chicago professional sports team will be the next to win it's championship?

I'll root for the A's. They have totally done things right based on limited resources. Billy Beane should be a model for all smaller market teams (even those that run themselves like small market teams.) "Moneyball" made me a believer.

Plus their are a few ex-Sox I'll be cheering for on the A's.

I pick the Red Sox, because (1) I live here and I'll be surrounded by that carnival everywhere I turn, so I might as well enjoy it. (2) I don't believe I could cheer for the Yankees to save my life... though if they make it to the WS and play the Cubs there will be incentive. (3) With a little Jedi mind trick, I can say "Go Sox" without crossing my fingers. (4) Their true fans are almost as frustrated as we are. (5) I'd like a plasma TV too.

Anyone in the NL playing the Cubs will also gain a temporary rooting interest from me.

More people would be interested in her if she bypassed the World Cup to sit in the stands at Fenway. Just kidding, how rude of me!!

The Red Sox. Manny is my favorite baseball player.

If they don't make it, I'll still watch, but just not cheer for anyone (except of course the teams that play Flubs/Min/Kc if any of them make it). I still like to watch the game.

If you voted for the cubs then you arent a sox fan. You're a cubs fan who "likes both teams"

Not one vote for the Mariners? Aw, c'mon!

I came across this whining screed this morning that I think is supposed to make us feel sorry for Seattle or something, ranking cities in terms of recent pro sports success across the board. In their analysis, Chicago comes in fourth (thanks, Mike). Seattle comes in dead last.

Looking For A Sports Championship? Don't Look In Seattle (http://www.komotv.com/sports/story.asp?ID=27288)

Bill Gates ought to take a spare billion and get right on that. Don't Microsofties like sports?

I really want the Marlins, they have been my #2 team behind the Sox since the start of the season.

Fine. Whatever. As long as those perfectly-tanned soccer calves she has are public domain, the world is a better place.

There's baseball in October? I thought that only occurred during the following years; 1906, 1917, 1919, 1959, 1983, 1993, 2000.

NOTE: 1) In 1901, the Sox finished 83-53... but the NL & AL had yet to get their act together (meaning no World Series - not until 1903)

NOTE: 2) We all know about 1994... no need elaborating.

This year is the 100th anniversary of Orville & Wilbur Wright realizing their dreams at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. They were able to get their act together... will I be typing this again in 2017?

I voted the Red Sox, but I'm not going to really care one way or the other. The reason I say the Red Sox, though ... 1) Unless that team's name is the Cubs, it's nice to see a perennial loser win for once, and 2) While we'll never get back the "Sox" name with the east coast sports media, we'll see the end of this "long suffering Bostonians" routine, which completely undermines the fact that White Sox fans (and, to a certain extent, true Cubs fans if they exist) have suffered longer and to a much greater extent than Red Sox fans.

I'm strictly an AL guy, so I'll also cheer for the A's because of Moneyball, which also made me a believer in Beane ... I won't cheer for either the Yankees or Twins unless hell freezes over and they play the Cubs in the World Series.

Giants, followed closely by the Athletics.

I will be rooting for Foulke and Durham, but I never root for the National League. So, I'd like to see Oakland over the Giants in the Series.
